Manicure Instructions, Application, and Removal of Nails
make your press on nails last beautifully!
~Please read all instructions before beginning~
-
Begin with clean dry hands and nails. Do not wash your hands. Or wait an hour after you have washed your hands to start your dry manicure.
-
Use the cuticle stick to gently push back the cuticles at the base of your nailbed. Remove any dry cuticle that is left with your cuticle stick. Dry cuticle is white flakey residue left on the nail when the skin is gently pushed back.
-
File nails to a short length with a rounded shape for best fit of the press on nail.
-
Use the small buffer on the least abrasive side to remove all the shine from your nail bed or base coat.
-
Dehydrate fingernail beds with 91% alcohol or pure acetone. Make sure to dehydrate all corners and around cuticle area thoroughly. pro tip: if you have oily nail beds, dehydrate twice or more.
-
Optional pro tip: to help keep your natural nails healthy and safe (especially during removal) apply a sticky base coat, rubber base coat, or builder gel to the surface of your natural nail before applying glue or sticky tabs
-
To wear nails for 1 to 14 days use the nail jelly tabs that are included. Choose a jelly tab that is closest in size to your nail beds. Remove from backing and apply firmly to the nail holding for 30-60 seconds for strong adhesion. Make sure to press evenly especially around the edges. Place press on nail at a 45-degree angle to the base of your nailbed. Press down from back to front to push out any air bubbles. Hold firmly in place for 60 seconds for each nail. Pro tip: Use a hairdryer on a warm setting to heat up the jelly tab for 30 seconds before applying your press on nail.
-
To wear nails for 10 to 14 days or more use the nail glue that is included. Add a drop of glue to the back of the press on nail as well as a thin coat to the entire fingernail. Avoid your skin. Apply the press on nail at a 45-degree angle and press down from back to front. Apply quickly so that the glue does not dry. Hold firmly in place for 60 seconds for each nail.
Talons Nail Art Press on Nail Removal
Make your REAL nails last beautifully!
-
Jelly tab and glue removal: Soak your fingertips in dish soap diluted with warm water for 15 minutes.
-
Lift the press on nail from the bottom and side edges gently with the included cuticle stick. Natural styles will be more flexible than sculpted styles of press on nails. If removed properly, both can be reused again and again.
-
Add cuticle oil to the lifted spots and allow it to soak into your nail plate. Pro tip: Be patient. You want to be able to apply your newest set of Talons Nail Art press on nails to healthy nail beds!
-
Equally lift the press on nail gently around the edges. Avoid prying hard so that you do not damage your natural nails or your press on nails. Add more cuticle oil and soak longer to allow the warm soapy water and cuticle stick do the work.
-
Continue this process until all of the press on nails have come loose. They should lift off your nails with no pressure or pulling to your natural nails.
-
Remove remaining jelly tab with your cuticle stick and cuticle oil. Clean residue off with rubbing alcohol.
-
Remove remaining nail glue by gently filing it off. Do NOT file your own nail surface! Pro tip: use a nail glue remover on a cotton pad to gently dissolve any remaining glue. (I have used Gellen nail glue remover with success. Nailsletter readers receive updates to products that I have tried.)
-
Apply cuticle oil and hand cream.
Pro tips and tricks:
-
Keep hands out of water for at least 3 hours after applying press on nails.
-
Wear gloves when washing dishes.
-
Never use your press on nails as tools!
-
To add more wearing time to the jelly tabs, add a thin layer of nail glue to the press on nail before applying it.
-
If you have a flatter nail bed you can sandwich two tabs together along with a thin coat of glue on the underside of the press on nail for better adhesion.
-
You can apply new Talons Nail Art press ons after your nails have been clean and dry for an hour. Just skip the hand cream and start a new dry manicure.
